This is the primary, guiding resource for artists creating posters for the show. Please bookmark this link for future reference.
Overview
The goal of the show is to have over a dozen unique poster designs available for sale at the event only. Posters will not be available for sale online.
All prints will be sold at the same $40 price-tag. Please look over these guidelines and budget accordingly.
Organizer Obligations
The Organizer (Eric Zwierzynski) will provide a venue and well marketed event to display and sell the original posters created for this group show. The Organizer will do his best to support the artist in whatever capacity they are able should the artist have difficulty producing a poster on time or to the quality expected.
The Organizer will collect $5 of every $40 poster sale to recoup expenses incurred by providing the venue, marketing and event.
Artist (YOU) Obligations
By participating in this show, the artist is expected to assume financial responsibility of the poster prints. Each print will be sold for $40 each at the show. The Organizer will keep $5 of each poster sale to cover the cost of the venue, credit card transactions, marketing and administration.
Full sale of the prints is not guaranteed. Any prints left over will be returned to the artist to sell or do with as they wish.
Theme
The theme for the October 3rd, 2014 event will be:
“A Better Place”
Deadlines
Art should be completed by September 1st. Please allow 2 weeks for printing.
Posters should be printed and in hand by no later than Friday, September 26. (Unless you want me nagging you as I’m sick with worry)
If you cannot attend the evening, that’s okay, but you will need to deliver your posters to me by Wednesday, October 1st.
Guidelines
Each artist will produce a poster within the following guidelines.
Medium
The medium guidelines are to ensure that we are offering a product that holds value. Digital prints, photographic canvas prints and even offset prints do not have the same perceived value as those listed below.
- Screen Print
- Letterpress Print
- Block Print
Size Recommendations
Size guidelines are to ensure the product is large enough to be of substance, but not so large as to prohibit display.
- 11″ x 18″ (small)
- anything-in-between
- 24″ x 36″ (large)
Quantity Recommendations
The quantity of the prints is largely left to the artist, but we do recommend printing enough to be cost effective. A good rule of thumb may be to recoup expenses after only 5-7 sales.
- 24 count
- 36 count
- 48 count
- 60 count
